Community Social Initiatives Djarum's values are deeply influenced by its small-town roots. Civic values of community help, tolerance, and mutual assistance are instinctively part of the way we operate. Over time, these efforts have evolved into structured community programs as well as ad hoc efforts to assist neighbors and society in general. Djarum Foundation's community contributions continue this tradition of assisting local communities wherever we find ourselves, for the betterment of society at large.

Environment Initiatives The equatorial tropics have the ability to absorb more CO2 than any other climate zone due to the fast rate of vegetation growth in this zone. Consequently, Djarum Foundation has launched a major tree-planting initiative on Java to provide shade and absorb CO2 as well as improve soil retention and water catchment. Not stopping there, in 2010 the Djarum Trees for Life (DTFL) program began planting Rain Trees (Trembesi) along the 478 kilometers-long Central Java Pantura North coastal highway, with the goal of reaching enough trees by 2014 to absorb up to 685 million kilograms of CO2 each year.
